Four of us went for Sunday dinner today and it was the best roast I’ve had in ages! Everything was cooked beautifully and the portions were generous. We ordered dessert and though it wasn’t what we ordered (board said apple and cherry crumble but we got strawberry and blueberry crumble) it was lovely so none of us minded. Staff were all lovely and welcoming, would absolutely recommend!

Been renovated to a high standard and looks great inside and good choice of beers and real ales etc, the food was top notch and no complaints from the four of us. Will go again.

I was staying in the area on business and needed a place to have dinner. I was recommended to try a number of places but they were either closed or not serving evening meals. A very nice lady picked up the phone at the Plough and confirmed they were providing meals. I drove 9 miles away from my accommodation and wasn't disappointed! My duck was lovely, the service was great and even the locals made conversation! Highly recommend.

The food at The Plough is excellent. Chose the Doombar steak and ale pie and was not disappointed. Highly recommend a visit. Excellent wheelchair access and suitable toilets. Service is too both too. Very friendly.

Great food. Great service. Excellent value for money when you consider the quality of the produce used, much of it local. We booked in advance in the bar as we had the dog with us which was no problem. Absolutely nothing not to like. Would definitely recommend.

What a find! A beautiful pub with delicious, cooked with passion, food. Outside sheltered dining available. Big car park. Well worth visiting. We’ll be back! And they serve Doom Bar!

Fantastic food as always

I went away for the weekend to celebrate my late wife's birthday, was told I would get a good steak here, was not disappointed, the food was excellent, the service as good, I bought a gin and tonic for the wife, her favourite tipple, asked if I could but the glass as a momento, the young lady washed it out and gifted me it, (sadly dropped it getting out of the taxi back at sie lol), definitely go back here

Just called in for some tea.... and the food was fantastic ... we had the Steak and Doombar pie meal and it was delicious

Wow! What a find! Myself and a friend were looking for somewhere to get food for about 4pm, this was the only place locally still serving (that we could find in internet searches) on this cloudy Sunday afternoon! We were super delighted with the food. Atmosphere; staff came across a little abrupt towards us when we walked in and asked for a table, hence the slight downfall on this rating section. The food was incredible, the beef was delicious - tender, melt in the mouth, the mash was a hidden gem, Yorkshire puddings and vegetables were perfect 🥰 generous portions, attentive table waiting and check backs, dessert was incredible 😋 Would highly recommend this amazing place - great decor and presentation too. We will be back 😉

A beautiful Sunday roast beef lunch

Never had a bad meal here. Sunday lunch for 5 adults and a child, food very tasty as always everything was tasty, disappointing that the deep fried brie was not on as a starter as it was a family favourite and salways tasted wonderful, whipped honey and goats cheese made up for it though. A pleasant eating experience and would highly reccomend this venue for anyone wanting a great meal out.

We usually go once a week in the evening for drinks with 2 friends and enjoy the interaction with the locals and staff.

The Plough is a great place for Sunday lunch, food is fantastic and staff are welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend 👌

We visited The Plough on a Saturday evening. The pride and professionalism of the staff and owners is obvious before you even step through the door. Even the car park is immaculate! We were given a very warm welcome by the barmaid and invited to choose a table in the bright, spacious dining room. Nice choice of beer/ale. The menu has something for everyone in each course and we were very happy with our choices. The food was excellent in every aspect, and the service was very attentive without being over bearing. Can’t recommend highly enough. Hopefully we will be back someday!

Amazing Sunday roast in a really lovely, friendly pub. We sat in the bar area as we had our dog with us and the staff were so welcoming. The roast and puddings were delicious. Would highly recommend!

What a cracking find The Plough is! Great decor, atmosphere, friendly and professional service, and really tasty food. Had two meals over the weekend and couldn’t have been happier. Highly recommend and will most definitely be back 🙂

We love this place the food is great and overall experience is great.

Great find, we arrived without booking en- route home. Children's carbonarra was amazing, goats cheese tart was delicious, and the ciabatta was very filling. All the food was well presented and nice and hot. Lovely staff, and very clean public areas.

First visit. A very high standard has been set. Will be booking again soon lets hope the very high standards are maintained.

The Plough, is our favourite place to eat locally , i have recently had my surprise 60th Birthday Sunday lunch there and it was amazing the girls running the restaurant are brilliant and i cant thank then enough for there incredible effort every time we visit.

Had an amazing meal here on 2/6/2023. A lovely welcome on arrival. Drinks order taken straight away. Food was great staff was very busy but still very attentive. We was recommended by a friend and will definitely be coming back. What an amazing meal and amazing staff and general fabulous place. If you haven't been, I recommend you give it a try.

Our wedding anniversary meal here was excellent. The food was well presented and was perfectly cooked and presented. Service was good, as expected and overall it was a lovely evening. We will return.

We’ve been to The Plough 5 times for Sunday lunch, it has been faultless every time and it is by far the best Roast lunch we have had in the surrounding area. The starters, mains and desserts are all delicious and worth every penny. All of the staff that work there are really upbeat, polite and always make you feel very welcome. Our favourite place on a Sunday by a mile!

The Plough is a local gem. This was my first visit but certainly not my last. Pate starter followed by the Burger and fries but for me the best came last. Apple and Cherry crumble with ice cream, absolutely gorgeous. Everyone elses food looked amazing to.

Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal here tonight. Delicious food, good presentation, friendly staff and beautiful place. Only negative is that one of us is vegetarian and not much choice for him but must say that what he had he enjoyed. An observation but not a criticism is that the lighting is very bright in the restaurant, all of us commented on this. Perhaps needs to be softer. A very enjoyable evening and definitely will be back, thankyou 😊

Fab food and service was good too but it was a little bit chilly in the restaurant area. Watch out for the surprise in the cellar!

We just called in for one, but had several! It was very clean and friendly. We sat near an open fire and it was lovely no one else in, so it was quiet but real nice.
